So both JLK and PhizzleDizzle tagged me with a meme that I'm pretty sure was created for the sole purpose of humiliating your favorite-dlist monktress:
RULES:
a) Put your MP3 player, iTunes, Windows Media Player, etc. on shuffle
b) For each question, press the next button to get your answer.
c) YOU MUST WRITE THAT SONG NAME DOWN NO MATTER HOW SILLY IT SOUNDS
d) Tag at least 5 people
e) Everyone tagged has to do the same thing
f) Have Fun! -I did not have fun! I had fucking heart palpitations every time I pressed next, afraid that my few hundred remixes of "Sexual Healing" would indeed be revealed to the universe
Fortunately it did not turn out that badly, but you are still very, very bad people and I've got my eyes on you now! Ok, one eye on you and one eye on Marvin Gay while he croons sweet platitudes into my monktress ears.
1. IF SOMEONE SAYS 'ARE YOU OKAY' YOU SAY?
"Life Being What is Is" by Kaki King
2. HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOURSELF?
"Unfinished Symphony" by Massive Attack-precisely, I couldn't imagine a better way to describe myself
3. WHAT DO YOU LIKE IN A GUY/GIRL?
"C.R.U.S.H." by Ciara-I didn't rig it I promise! If I had this would totally be "Like a Boy" by Ciara instead.
4. HOW DO YOU FEEL TODAY?
"One Short Day" sung by Indina Menzel and Kristen Chenoweth (Wicked the muscial!)
5. WHAT IS YOUR LIFE'S PURPOSE?
"Tattoo" by Jordin - if by tattoo you mean Terrific Aspiring Tenure-Track Ominopotent Official, then yes
6. WHAT'S YOUR MOTTO?
"Pink Triangle" by Weezer
7. WHAT DO YOUR FRIENDS THINK OF YOU?
"You Look Good Jack" by Hans Zimmer (Pirates of the Caribbean OST)
8. WHAT DO YOUR PARENTS THINK OF YOU?
"Juliet Refuses to Marry Paris" conducted by Gergiev
9. WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT VERY OFTEN?
"Judas" by Kelly Clarkson-What better proverb for a burgeoning academic researcher than the story of someone tirelessly helping someone out, then getting shanked in the back. Awesome.
10. WHAT IS 2 + 2?
"Give me Novocaine" by Green Day-perfect description of Hermitage's general feelings on anything mentally taxing
11. WHAT DO YOU THINK OF YOUR BEST FRIEND?
"Play Dead" by Bjork-Uhhh I don't want any of my friends dead, or to play dead, I'm pretty sure. Of course, it wouldn't be the best idea to tell anyone, right?
12. WHAT IS YOUR LIFE STORY?
"Fallen" by Franz Ferdinand-An Angel fallen from Heaven, of course. Science Heaven.
13. WHAT DO YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU GROW UP?
"A Hard Day's Night" by the Beatles-Isn't this song about sex, basically? I'm pretty sure I don't want to grow up to be sex. Sounds messy.
14. WHAT DO YOU THINK WHEN YOU SEE THE PERSON YOU LIKE?
"The only difference between suicide and martyrdom is press coverage" by Panic! At the Disco-I will admit falling in like with someone makes me want to jump off a cliff because it distracts me from my hot science; however, I have no interest in being a martyr of love.
15. WHAT WILL YOU DANCE TO AT YOUR WEDDING?
"Laura" by Flogging Molly
16. WHAT WILL THEY PLAY AT YOUR FUNERAL?
"Backward Sucking" by Massive Attack
17. WHAT IS YOUR HOBBY/INTEREST?
"Round and Round" by Bodyrockers-sounds like my research at the moment. A science hamster on a wheel.
18. WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST FEAR?
"You and Whose Army?" by Radiohead
19. WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST SECRET?
"Du Nimmst Mir Die Sicht" by Juli
20. WHAT DO YOU WANT RIGHT NOW?
"Rosario Tijeras" by Juanes-Yes, that is precisely what I want right now. *ralph*
21. WHAT DO YOU THINK OF YOUR FRIENDS?
"No Regrets" By Saliva
22. WHAT WILL YOU POST THIS AS?
"Las valse des vieux os" by Yann Tiersen (Amelie OST)
Well, that's all muffins. It was tons of fun. Now I'm going to go rock out to more Konichiwa Bitches by Robyn. Followed by "Complaint Department" by Lykke Li. And maybe "Cannonball" by Damien Rice. Stop laughing, that's high quality musical taste right there!

That is way too many questions! I'm going to stall this until after my thesis ... or maybe I'll find a moment of utter desperation, and then do this.
Thanks, anyway
Mine is up....
Now that the heat is on for me to post more substantive material, I will wait a few days to respond. But thanks for tagging me, dudette! You know you're in my top tier of bloggers I totally, totally love!
very interesting to see a bit of what is on your playlist!
I'm glad you tagged me, this will be fun :-)
... of course you realize with my less than regular blogging lately, all those waiting eagerly for a glimpse of my playlist [snorts with amusement] will probably have to wait at least a few days!
We are sisters in geekdom for the Wicked soundtrack!
I applaud you for Massive Attack, and I saw Flogging Molly at Lollapalooza last year. Nothing like a huge mob of drunks Irish dancing!!
@Nina: it is not too many! Just do 1 at a time while you rock out on your ipod. You knowwwww you want to. Esp if you listen to any Eurodance bands, 'cause I totally want that info
@DGT: AWESOME
@Juniper: I love you too. Because you write really long and intense blog posts and give nublets like me to be smart, and do stuff, and stuff.
@Science Bear: We did not even come close to delving in to the totally weird shit I listen to. I have it ALL man.
@JLK: The Wicked soundtrack could basically bring about world peace if we just played it over and over. Trust. I am a big fangirl of Massive Attack and Flogging Molly. Even though Flogging Molly is a shameless imitator of some other real Irish band I can't remember the name of.
@Hermitage:
You know Robyn? Does this mean you also know of Princess Superstar, MC Frontalot, and Nursehella?
Also, I think that name you're searching for it The Dropkick Murphys.
I didn't get tagged with these questions, but I tried it anyway from Eppendork's version and, even after 7 times, it made no sense whatsoever. I kept getting concertos...
@toaster: we obviously need to be friends, there is no other viable alternative. Princess Sunshine makes my day shiny.
Flogging Molly does get compared to Dropkick Murphys a lot, but there's also another band that starts with a P I think...that everyone says was FM's progenitor.
LOLZ! Um. Sorry I'm lame.
